Notwithstanding the use of the Platform, any agreement to provide Transportation Services constitutes a separate agreement between the Driver and the Passenger. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and CaminoCabs. 2.8 Account Security
You shall keep your username and password safe and shall not disclose either to third parties, or provide them with access to the App. You shall be solely responsible for the confidentiality and security of your account. Any unauthorised third-party use must immediately be reported to CaminoCabs.
3. Platform Availability and Device Requirements
3.1 Platform "As Is"
The CaminoCabs Driver App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. CaminoCabs cannot guarantee the continuous and uninterrupted availability or operation of the App and does not promise that the use of the App will always be secure, available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, or that any problems, defects, breakages or network security vulnerabilities will be corrected.
All warranties, representations, conditions and all other terms of any kind whatsoever implied by statute or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, hereby excluded.
3.2 No Guarantee of Availability
CaminoCabs shall endeavour to achieve maximum possible availability and to resolve any disruptions as quickly as reasonably possible. However, CaminoCabs:
- Does not guarantee that Passengers will be available when you use the App
- Does not guarantee any minimum number of trip requests
- Does not guarantee any minimum level of earnings
- Does not guarantee continuous availability of the Platform
- Shall not be liable if it ceases, entirely or partially, temporarily or permanently, to make available the App
3.3 Service Interruption
CaminoCabs shall be entitled to discontinue the services offered via the App temporarily in whole or in part without prior notice. CaminoCabs may modify the App at any time in order to further develop and improve it in terms of quality. CaminoCabs or the manufacturer of your End-Device may also require you to update the App. CaminoCabs cannot guarantee that any updated version of the App shall continue to be compatible with your End-Device or its operating system.
3.4 Device Requirements
You shall be solely responsible for:
- Internet access and associated costs
- Technical requirements of your End-Device
- The configuration and capability of the End-Device for using the App
- The required software and hardware being up to date and compatible with the App
3.5 Device Mounting
The End-Device required for using the App shall be safely mounted in your vehicle at all times during the provision of Transportation Services, in compliance with all Road Safety Laws. You shall comply with all Road Safety Laws while using the End-Device.
3.6 Geolocation
In order for CaminoCabs to provide its Intermediation Services, your current location is tracked using geolocation services when you are online in the App. Failure to activate geolocation services shall prevent the provision of Intermediation Services to you by CaminoCabs. You must keep geolocation enabled while online.
4. Stripe Connect and Payments
4.1 Stripe Connect Account
Important: By registering as a Driver, you authorise CaminoCabs to create a Stripe Connect account on your behalf using the personal information you provide during registration (name, address, date of birth, IBAN). This account is essential for processing your payments and is subject to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
4.2 Payment Collection on Behalf of Driver
CaminoCabs invoices the Passenger and collects payment of the fare in the name and on behalf of the Driver, in accordance with the applicable fare as determined by the taximeter. By accepting these Terms, you assign your claim against the Passenger for payment of the fare to CaminoCabs for collection purposes.
When a Passenger pays by card through the App:
- The payment is collected by CaminoCabs through Stripe on your behalf
- CaminoCabs retains the Intermediation Fee from the collected fare (if applicable under your current billing mode)
- Your earnings (fare minus Intermediation Fee, if applicable, plus tips and tolls) are transferred to your Stripe Connect account
- Once funds are available in your Stripe Connect account, they are automatically transferred to your bank account on the next daily payout
For the avoidance of doubt, CaminoCabs acts as a collection agent in respect of fare payments. The fare revenue belongs to the Driver, and CaminoCabs deducts its Intermediation Fee (if applicable) before remitting the balance.
4.3 Daily Payouts
- Payout schedule: Every morning at 6:00 AM
- How it works: When a Passenger pays by card, the funds are deposited into your Stripe Connect account. Once Stripe has processed and cleared the funds, they are automatically transferred to your bank account on the next daily payout at 6:00 AM
- Processing time: For established accounts, funds are typically available within 2-3 business days. For newly created accounts, Stripe may hold funds for up to 7 calendar days before they become available for payout
- Minimum payout: €0.50. If your available balance is below €0.50, it will accumulate until the minimum is reached
4.4 Tips
Tips paid through the App are transferred to you in full (100%). CaminoCabs does not take any Intermediation Fee on tips. Tips are typically transferred immediately if your Stripe Connect account is active, otherwise they are included in your next daily payout.
4.5 Tolls
Toll amounts added to trips are transferred to you in full (100%). CaminoCabs does not take any Intermediation Fee on tolls.
4.6 Receipts and Invoicing
Notwithstanding that CaminoCabs invoices and collects payments from Passengers on your behalf, you shall be obliged to provide a Passenger with a copy of a taximeter receipt in respect of amounts paid if requested by the Passenger. You shall ultimately be responsible for compliance with your invoicing obligations, in particular with regard to the content of invoices provided by you, as well as any relevant VAT obligations.
5. Intermediation Fees and Billing Modes
5.1 Billing Modes
CaminoCabs offers two billing modes between which the Driver may choose on a monthly basis:
- Commission Mode (default): The Driver pays an Intermediation Fee calculated as a percentage of the meter fare for each trip completed. This is the default billing mode for all Drivers upon registration.
- Subscription Mode: The Driver pays a fixed monthly fee in advance and pays 0% Intermediation Fee on all trips during the covered month.
Full details of the applicable Intermediation Fee rates, subscription prices, selection window, renewal, expiration, and all related terms are set out in the Schedule of Fees (Intermediation Fees).
5.2 Intermediation Fee
The Driver shall pay to CaminoCabs the agreed Intermediation Fee for Transportation Services provided, in consideration for the Intermediation Services provided by CaminoCabs through the Platform. The Intermediation Fee is calculated in accordance with the Schedule of Fees (Intermediation Fees), as may be updated from time to time, and the Driver's current billing mode.
5.3 What the Intermediation Fee is Charged On
| Component | Intermediation Fee Charged? |
|---|---|
| Meter Fare | Yes — in Commission Mode (see Schedule of Fees). No — in Subscription Mode (0%) |
| Tips | No (100% to Driver) |
| Tolls | No (100% to Driver) |
| Cancellation Fees | No (100% to Driver) |
5.4 Intermediation Fee Exemptions
In Commission Mode, you may be exempt from the Intermediation Fee in the following cases:
- Reward Benefits: If you earn an Intermediation Fee-free benefit through the Rewards programme
- Shop Purchases: If you purchase an Intermediation Fee-free period using CaminoPoints
- Referral Rewards: If you receive an Intermediation Fee-free benefit through the Referral Programme
Intermediation Fee exemption is determined at the time you accept a trip and remains locked for that trip even if the benefit expires during the trip.
Drivers in Subscription Mode already benefit from 0% Intermediation Fee and cannot purchase or activate Intermediation Fee-free benefits. See the Schedule of Fees for full details.
5.5 Cash Trips (Commission Mode)
When a Passenger pays in cash and you are in Commission Mode:
- You receive the full fare directly from the Passenger
- The Intermediation Fee owed to CaminoCabs is recorded as a debt
- This debt is automatically deducted from your next card payment earnings
5.6 Cash Payment Disputes
When a Passenger selects cash as payment method, the fare is payable directly by the Passenger to you at the end of the trip. CaminoCabs does not intermediate, guarantee, or assume responsibility for cash payments between you and the Passenger.
If a Passenger fails to pay the cash fare:
- CaminoCabs is not liable for any loss you suffer as a result of a Passenger's failure to pay a cash fare. The payment obligation is between you and the Passenger
- Report the incident: You may report the non-payment to CaminoCabs through the App. You are also entitled to report the matter directly to An Garda Síochána, as failure to pay a taxi fare may constitute a criminal offence under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 ("making off without payment")
- Account action: Upon receiving a report of non-payment, CaminoCabs may suspend or permanently terminate the Passenger's account
- Cooperation with authorities: CaminoCabs will cooperate with An Garda Síochána and other competent law enforcement authorities by providing relevant Passenger and trip data upon receipt of a valid legal request, in accordance with GDPR Article 6(1)(c) (compliance with a legal obligation) and Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests, including the prevention and detection of crime)
5.7 Changes to Fees
CaminoCabs reserves the right to change the Intermediation Fee rates, subscription prices, and/or to impose additional fees from time to time. See Section 22 (Changes to These Terms) for the notice period that applies.
See the Schedule of Fees (Intermediation Fees) for full details.
6. Payment Holds and Passenger Debts
6.1 Pre-Authorisation (Payment Hold)
When a Passenger requests a trip and pays by card, CaminoCabs places a pre-authorisation hold on the Passenger's payment card for the estimated maximum fare. This hold reserves the funds on the Passenger's card but does not charge them until the trip is completed.
6.2 Trip Completion and Final Charge
At the end of the trip, the actual fare as determined by the taximeter is charged:
- If the final fare is equal to or less than the held amount: Only the actual fare is charged. Any excess held amount is released automatically back to the Passenger's card
- If the final fare exceeds the held amount: The held amount is charged in full, and CaminoCabs attempts to collect the additional difference from the Passenger's card
6.3 When Additional Collection is Required
Your earnings are protected: If the final fare exceeds the pre-authorised amount and the additional charge cannot be collected from the Passenger immediately, CaminoCabs will continue to pursue collection through automatic retry attempts and Passenger account restrictions until the balance is resolved. The Passenger's account is blocked from further bookings until any outstanding balance is cleared.
6.4 Destination Changes
Recommendation: If a Passenger wishes to change their drop-off location during a trip, we strongly recommend that the Passenger makes the change through the App rather than requesting the change verbally. When the destination is updated through the App, the system automatically recalculates the estimated fare and places an additional hold on the Passenger's card for the difference. This significantly reduces the risk of an unpaid fare and protects your earnings.
If the destination is changed verbally without updating the App, no additional hold is placed, and the risk of the final fare exceeding the original held amount — and a debt being created — is higher.
6.5 Debt Collection
- The Passenger's account is blocked until the debt is paid
- Automatic payment attempts are made on all saved cards
- Email reminders are sent to the Passenger
- The Passenger cannot delete their account or remove payment cards while a debt is outstanding
6.6 When Debt is Collected
Once the Passenger pays the outstanding debt, the funds are transferred to your Stripe Connect account and included in your next daily payout.
See the Schedule of Fees (Intermediation Fees) for full details on how payment holds and debt collection work.
7. Accepting and Completing Trips
7.1 Trip Requests
When you are online, you may receive trip requests from nearby Passengers. For each request, you will see:
- Pickup location
- Drop-off location (if provided)
- Estimated fare range
- Passenger rating and number of completed trips
- Payment method (card or cash)
7.2 Request Notification
When a Passenger makes a Request, the system first notifies the nearest available Driver. If that Driver does not respond within the allotted time, the Request is then shown to other nearby Drivers. If two or more Drivers accept the same Request simultaneously, the Driver with the lower cancellation rate is given priority (see Section 7.6).
7.3 Accepting Trips
You are free to accept or decline any trip request. A Request may be accepted by pressing the "ACCEPT" button. There is no penalty for declining trip requests.
7.4 Fulfilling Requests
Once you accept a Request (including a pre-booked Request), we encourage you to complete the trip wherever possible. If you need to cancel after accepting, you may do so — however, please note that cancellations after acceptance are tracked and may affect your cancellation rate (see Section 7.5).
7.5 Cancellation Rate
To ensure a quality and reliable service for Passengers, your cancellation rate is tracked. If you cancel a trip after accepting it, your cancellation rate is affected. The impact depends on how quickly you cancel:
- Quick cancellation (within seconds of accepting): Minimal impact
- Late cancellation (after several minutes or after starting navigation): Significant impact
7.6 How Cancellation Rate is Used
Your cancellation rate is used as a tiebreaker in the following situations:
- Trip assignment: When two or more Drivers accept the same Request simultaneously, the Driver with the lower cancellation rate is given priority
- Reward challenges: When two or more Drivers are tied in a reward challenge (e.g., same number of qualifying trips), the Driver with the lower cancellation rate wins the tiebreaker
You can view your current cancellation rate at any time in your Driver profile within the App. A low cancellation rate reflects your commitment to Passengers and gives you a competitive advantage. We encourage all drivers to honour accepted trips where possible, as a reliable and consistent service benefits the entire CaminoCabs community — drivers and passengers alike.
7.7 Completing Trips
You must:
- Use the taximeter for all trips
- Follow the route requested by the Passenger or the most efficient route
- Enter the correct fare from the taximeter at the end of the trip
- Offer a taximeter receipt to the Passenger
7.8 Online Status
Whilst actively providing Transportation Services, you shall update your status as 'online' or 'offline' in the App. Only Drivers showing their status as being 'online' shall be able to view and accept new Requests.
7.9 Prebooks (Scheduled Rides)
You may accept Prebook requests for future trips. Once accepted:
- You must activate the trip at the scheduled time
- If you cannot complete the Prebook, cancel as early as possible
- Repeated Prebook cancellations may affect your account
8. Signals (Partner Drivers Only)
8.1 What are Signals?
Signals allow Passengers to broadcast their pickup request to multiple nearby Partner Drivers simultaneously. Signals are only available to Partner Drivers.
8.2 Earning CaminoPoints from Signals
When you complete a pickup from a Signal, you earn CaminoPoints. The number of points earned may vary and can be changed by CaminoCabs at any time.
8.3 Signal Verification
Points are awarded when the pickup is verified (Passenger confirms you have arrived or trip starts).
9. CaminoPoints and Shop (Partner Drivers)
9.1 Earning CaminoPoints
Partner Drivers can earn CaminoPoints by:
- Completing Signal pickups
- Bonus promotions
- Admin adjustments
The number of points earned per action may change at any time. Earning of CaminoPoints may be restricted depending on your billing mode. See the Schedule of Fees for details.
9.2 Using CaminoPoints
Points can be redeemed in the Shop for benefits such as:
- Intermediation Fee-free periods (hours, days, or weeks)
- Physical items
- Cash rewards
Some Shop items may be restricted depending on your billing mode. See the Schedule of Fees for details.
9.3 Point Expiration
CaminoPoints do not expire while your account remains active.
9.4 Benefit Activation
When you purchase or earn a benefit:
- You have 30 days to activate it
- Once activated, it runs for its specified duration
- Some benefits may have time restrictions (e.g., only valid 18:00-23:00)
- You can only have one active Intermediation Fee-exempt benefit at a time
- You may hold a maximum of two pending (unactivated) benefits at any time
10. Rewards Programme
10.1 Types of Rewards
CaminoCabs may offer reward challenges:
- Individual Rewards: Complete a target number of trips first to win
- Collective Rewards (Lottery): Each qualifying trip earns a lottery entry; winner drawn at random
10.2 Reward Conditions
Rewards may have specific conditions such as:
- Time restrictions (e.g., peak hours only)
- Day restrictions (e.g., weekends only)
- Minimum fare requirements
- Pickup zone requirements
10.3 Prizes
Prizes may include:
- Intermediation Fee-free periods
- Physical items
- Cash rewards
- Badges
Participation in certain challenges may be restricted depending on your billing mode. See the Schedule of Fees for details.
10.4 Bonuses
Any Driver bonuses or financial incentives that may be offered by CaminoCabs from time to time (whether as once-off bonuses or ongoing arrangements) and that may become payable as a result of meeting applicable criteria shall be separate from and in addition to your regular earnings.
11. Rating System
11.1 Passenger Ratings
After each trip, you may rate the Passenger on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. If you rate 2 stars or below, you must provide a written explanation.
11.2 Your Driver Rating
Passengers rate you after each trip. You agree and accept that Passengers may rate the services rendered by you. Your rating is visible to Passengers when they receive your trip acceptance. Such ratings shall be available for so long as you provide Transportation Services via the App.

16.2 Exclusion of Liability
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit in any way the liability of either party for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any matter for which it would be illegal or unlawful to exclude or limit liability.
