Taxis in Finglas, 24/7

CaminoCabs Limited is registered in Finglas, Dublin 11, and takes bookings for pickups across Finglas, Ballygall and the surrounding D11 area, day and night. This page is for local trips: the airport, the hospitals on the north side, the city centre and the stations.

There are four ways to book:

Fares are metered on Ireland's regulated NTA tariffs. Standard (Tariff 1) applies Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm. Premium (Tariff 2) applies from 8pm to 8am, on Sundays and on public holidays. On top of the meter, a €3 booking fee applies when you pre-book (nothing extra when you hail from a rank) and each additional adult after the first adds €1. Luggage is not charged. Surge pricing does not apply, whatever the demand.

If you want to see what a trip will cost before you book, the taxi fare calculator uses the same formula as the figures on this page.

Finglas to Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is on the same side of the city as Finglas, so the trip is short. There are three main routes from Finglas Village:

  • Via the M50: 8.9 km, about 11 minutes in light traffic and around 15 minutes in the evening rush
  • Via the R108: 9.8 km through Ballymun, about 14 to 16 minutes at most times of day
  • Via the M50 and M1: 10.5 km, about 11 minutes in light traffic and around 17 minutes in the evening rush

On the regulated tariffs, the M50 route comes to €16 to €18 by day and €21 to €24 at night. The R108 route comes to €17 to €20 by day and €23 to €26 at night. These ranges run from free-flowing traffic up to heavier traffic and exclude the €3 booking fee. For an early flight, pre-book the evening before: the driver is confirmed in advance and the fare range is known. Terminal pickup details and flight tracking are on our Dublin Airport taxi page.

Arriving at the airport and heading home to the north-west? Our airport to Blanchardstown page covers the neighbouring D15 trip.

Is there an M50 toll?

eFlow, the M50 operator, says the barrier-free toll point is between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan) and works in both directions. Trips from Finglas to the airport head east, away from that stretch, so no toll applies on any of the three routes above. For 2026, eFlow lists €3.80 for a car that is not registered with a tag or video account, payable by 8pm the next day. Among the trips in the table below, only Heuston Station by the M50 (15.7 km) crosses that stretch. We have used the shorter road route through Ratoath Road for the Heuston row, which does not. Tolls are not part of the fare ranges on this page, so ask us when you book if your trip may cross it. Source: eflow.ie.

Local Journeys From Finglas

Every row starts at Finglas Village, Dublin 11. Times are for light traffic and for a typical weekday at 11:00 and 17:30. Fares are the NTA ranges from our fare formula, excluding the €3 booking fee. Your own pickup point in Finglas may move the figures by a few euro.

The short hops show how much the wide ranges depend on the time of day. The city centre trip is 7.3 km but takes 24 to 31 minutes, so time on the meter counts for more than distance. The Blanchardstown and Connolly Hospital trips use the M50 and finish in around 10 minutes in free-flowing traffic, but the 17:30 figure rises to 16. The Blanchardstown and Connolly Hospital routes use the M50 only as far as the N3 junction, so they stop short of the toll point. Fares from a taxi rank carry no booking fee; see taxi ranks in Dublin.

Hospital and Appointment Trips

Finglas sits close to three large hospitals: Beaumont Hospital, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. Beaumont's own website gives its address as Beaumont Road, Dublin 9, D09 V2N0 (beaumont.ie). For visiting hours, outpatient clinics and parking, use the hospital's own site or the HSE's, because those details change.

A few practical points when you book a taxi for an appointment:

  • Pre-book morning clinics the day before, so the driver is confirmed for your time.
  • Name the department as well as the hospital when you book, and tell the driver where you need to be set down. Large sites have several buildings.
  • Allow extra time. The table above shows Beaumont taking 14 minutes in free-flowing traffic and 18 at 17:30. Arrive early for registration rather than just in time.
  • Plan the return. Appointments run over. Message us on WhatsApp when you are ready to leave, or book the return in advance if you know the finish time.
  • Bring the appointment letter and any mobility aids. If you use a wheelchair, book an accessible vehicle (see below).

From Finglas Village, the Mater is 4.6 km via the R135 and Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown is 7.1 km via the M50. Beaumont is 5.0 km via the R103.

Groups and Accessibility

A standard saloon takes four passengers. For families, a night out or a group heading to the airport together, a 7 or 8 seater taxi carries up to eight with luggage on the same regulated meter. Wheelchair users can book a wheelchair-accessible taxi; say it is for a wheelchair when you book so the right vehicle is sent.

CaminoCabs does not provide child seats. Families who need one should bring their own; our child seat page explains the rules.

Public Transport From Finglas

Finglas is served by Dublin Bus. Routes and timetables change, so check the current stops and times on dublinbus.ie or the TFI journey planner before you travel. Our Dublin Bus tracker and route planner help with live times.

A tram line to the area is planned. Transport Infrastructure Ireland describes Luas Finglas as a 3.9 km extension of the Luas Green Line from Broombridge to Charlestown via Finglas, with four planned stops: Charlestown, St Margaret's Road, Finglas Village and St Helena's. TII's project page does not give an opening date, so it is not a transport option yet (tii.ie). A taxi covers the trips a bus does not, such as the airport, late-night returns and appointments with a fixed time.
